Introduction:<\/strong>
In 1974, I was just a 12-year-old kid with a skateboard and a dream. My father, Pops, believed in me even when skateboarding was still a mere idea for many. He backed me, and together, we built something out of passion, craft, and a love for motion. Fifty years later, we\u2019re still here, and that same spirit of belief drives everything we do.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

DUNES isn\u2019t here to overshadow your local skate shop; we are here to elevate it. We sell decks and tees, but we urge you to buy your trucks, wheels, and safety gear locally. Skateboarding wasn’t the global phenomenon it is today; it was a small, niche hobby. I started young, just a kid, with big dreams. My first skateboard was a humble, hand-crafted deck \u2014 a slab of mahogany cut right in our garage. Pops was there every step of the way, not just funding boards, but investing in the belief that something bigger could be created. We weren\u2019t just building a brand; we were building a community. My crew, my family, and the early days of skateboarding were all about trust, friendship, and pure, unadulterated passion.<\/p>

The Lesson Pops Taught Me<\/strong><\/p>

Pops didn\u2019t just teach me to build boards or bikes; he taught me to build belief. He believed in community, in showing up when no one was watching, and in doing things the right way. He taught me that grit matters, that failures are part of the journey, and that the love for something is shown through action, not just words. These lessons weren\u2019t just about running a business; they were about life.
